Vision and Values
‘Be bold, be strong, for the Lord your God is with you.’
Joshua 1:9
Our Christian Vision
At Walberton & Binsted CE Primary School, our vision for children, staff and the wider school community is that:
Together, we are bold and courageous learners, guided by God’s love.
Our school vision is inspired by the words:
“Be bold, be strong, for the Lord your God is with you.” – Joshua 1:9
We strive to be a community where children, staff and families grow together as bold and courageous learners, rooted in God’s love.
Our vision is lived out through our Christian values of faith, love, respect, aspiration, perseverance, kindness and honesty, which underpin all aspects of school life.
We aim to:
- Support each child to become confident, resilient and reflective learners
- Encourage children to be bold in their thinking and strong in their character
- Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where everyone is valued
- Inspire our community to live with integrity and make a positive difference
Guided by faith, we believe that every member of our school community is on a journey, and that God walks alongside us every step of the way.

Our Christian Values
Our Christian values underpin our vision and guide the way we think, learn and live together. They are not simply words we display, but values we seek to practise every day through our worship, learning, choices and relationships.
Faith
We trust that God is always with us.
This gives us the courage to step forward, even when we feel unsure.
“Faith can move mountains” –Matthew 17:20
Love
We show care and compassion to everyone.
Because we are supported, we can help others feel safe, valued and not alone.
“Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” –John 13:34
Respect
We treat everyone with dignity and fairness.
We are brave enough to value differences and listen to others.
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” –Luke 6:31
Aspiration
We are courageous in our learning and ambitions.
We are not afraid to aim high and try new things.
“With God, nothing is impossible.” –Luke 1:37
Perseverance
We do not give up when things are hard.
We are strong and do not become discouraged—we keep going.
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” –Hebrews 12:1
Kindness
We choose to act with generosity and empathy.
True strength is shown in how we support and uplift others.
“Encourage one another and build each other up.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Honesty
We are truthful and act with integrity.
Because we are secure in God’s presence, we can be brave enough to do what is right.
“Speak truthfully to your neighbour and put off falsehood.” –Ephesians 4:25
Celebrating and Living Out Our Vision
We celebrate and promote our Christian vision, values and spiritual life through daily collective worship. Collective worship gives our school community regular time to pause, reflect, pray, sing, share stories and consider how our vision can be lived out in our words, actions and relationships. It helps children understand what it means to be bold and courageous learners, guided by God’s love, and supports the spiritual flourishing of pupils, staff and the wider school community.
